Nevill Golf Club is proud of its heritage and course, which offer great golf followed by fine food in relaxed surroundings, and the opportunity to enjoy the stunning rural location. By respecting tradition and keeping up to date, the club aims to make the Nevill experience second to none.

PLAYING

Handicaps
All visitors are expected to be competent golfers who hold a current club or society handicap. 

Starting Times
All visitor tee times are allocated in advance. The club's professionals control access to the tee, and the club reserves the right to adjust starting times as required.

Playing Restrictions
All play starts from the first tee. Members have exclusive rights to the tee at set times. Visitor play at weekends is not normally allowed.

TEES, PRACTICE FACILITIES & ETIQUETTE

Tees
Depending on ability, visitors can elect to play from the yellow tees (6206 yards), or the white tees (6399 yards). Ladies can also select to play from the red tees (5593 yards).

Practice Range
Practice facilities are available to visitors including both short and long game areas, and practice balls are offered with our compliments. There is also a practice putting green in front of the clubhouse.

Etiquette
Naturally, visitors are requested to conform to established golfing etiquette, be aware of other players, and call other players through if necessary. We ask everyone to play at a pace that is neither slow nor rushed, to ensure that a good, golfing time is had by all and players maintain their position on the course.

Dress Code On The Course

  • Spiked or rubber soled golf shoes must be worn.
  • Men choosing to wear shorts should understand that only tailored shorts are acceptable worn with either knee length socks of any colour or ankle length socks of any colour, socks should be worn at all times.
  • Men's shirts must be tucked in at all times.
  • Not permitted: collarless/sleeveless shirts, T-shirts, denim jeans/jackets, tracksuits, cargo shorts/trousers or training shoes.

Adverse Weather & Lightning
In the event of adverse or potentially dangerous weather, ie thunder/lightning, it is the responsibility of each individual golfer to decide to continue to play or to return to the clubhouse. A decision to continue play is entirely at the player’s risk.

The Clubhouse

THE CLUBHOUSE OPENS AT 7.30am

Professional shop facilities
In addition to offering for sale a wide array of equipment, clothing and gifts, our Head Professional and his team will action the following pre-bookable items:

Hire of Clubs £35.00 (must be pre-booked)


Hospitality
The food offered at the Nevill is first class, from light bites to lunch and dinner. Bar menu is available between 10.00am and 5.00pm. Pre-arranged lunches can be taken in the Memorabilia Room from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. Evening catering is available for parties of 20 or more. Menus are available on request. Fire Safety
In the event of a fire in the clubhouse, a fire alarm will sound. Please leave via the nearest exit. Fire exits will be clearly marked with lit green signs. Continue to the main car park and wait for further instructions from the fire wardens (orange or yellow fluorescent jackets).


SECURITY

Mobile Telephones
The club is a place of relaxation and leisure, so we ask that, apart from doctors on-call and other key workers, visitors must switch off their mobile phones when on the course or in the clubhouse. Essential calls must be made only in the main reception area.

Security
The club has the benefit of external CCTV, but regrets that it can accept no liability for the loss or theft of visitors' property on the course, in the car park, or in the clubhouse.


DRESS CODE

In the clubhouse
Golf wear can be worn throughout the club. There are restrictions on where golf shoes, caps and outer garments can be worn. Visitors are particularly required to dress appropriately in the restaurant room. Denim jeans, training shoes and round neck T-shirts are not permitted on the course or in the clubhouse.

Changing
Visitors are requested not to change into or out of golfing attire in the car park. Even if you feel pushed for time there are adequate and much more comfortable facilities available within the clubhouse!


Wash room facilities
Both men’s and ladies changing rooms offer a full towel services for our members and visitors.
